Virtual Training Client Profile: Madeline Hamilton on behalf of Logan, Peewee, Pinckerington, OH

1. Describe in brief your player’s training routine outside of For the Love of Hockey Virtual.

Logan has 2 on Ice practices/ week in season, plus a third roller practice for the first third of the season. He and his dad work on stick handling in the garage approximately 30 minutes 5 days/ week.

2. Why did you decide to try virtual training?

Hockey is such a secretive keep everything under wraps system, that with moving every few years, it's hard to know who and where the coaches and camps that are worth our time and money are, and especially when and how to sign up for them. So many hockey extra curricular book up and there such fierce competition for spots, not many people are willing to share who they use. An at home coaching session, created with FTLOH is a product I felt like I had limited risk with.

3. How many session has your player had so far and how is it going?

Logan had his first session Monday and had his second Saturday. Logan works hard and has always had the feedback of being very coachable. He never done virtual training, so I was hopeful those skills would connect virtually. Logan really took in what Grady said and Grady's tweaks seemed to be straight forward and simple enough that Logan could change what he needed to easily. The changes break had him make made visible improvements in each drill.

4. What’s your favorite aspect of training with For the Love of Hockey Virtual?

Having the direct feedback after every few pick touches is great. Logan has never worked an individual session, and with the quick tweaks and direct feedback from Grady, the improvement is noticeable in just a little bit of time. Obviously, he has to continue to work the proper techniques, but having Grady give him nearly instant feedback has been great. The evaluation report really helps out all the skills into perspective. Logan has gotten coaches’ growth opportunities and success letters with scale abilities before but this was the most clear cut and well explained evaluation.
