Why customers love The Xenopuck

Amanda B.

Holy Monkey! I was honestly surprised. My brain says they shouldn’t move like that. It feels like a real puck and it moves like I’m actually on ice - when I’m obviously not. It’s pretty unreal.

John L.

Excellent off ice training puck! I had doubts but was pleasantly surprised. It’s nice to have the appropriate weight puck for training.

Tyler M.

After owning three Zeno pucks for a few weeks I’ve noticed not only my on ice stick handling and shooting improved a lot but even my roller hockey shooting! I highly highly recommend purchasing this for your off ice training, the results will amaze you!

Frequently Asked Questions

How did you come up with the Xenopuck?

Steve and Carter grew up together in Florida and first started playing roller hockey as children. Once they started getting into ice hockey, they found it challenging to adjust to the heavier puck and didn't have access to ice often so we they didn’t have a lot of opportunity to get used to it. At this time, they were still regularly playing roller hockey. Carter's dad is an engineer so he decided to try to make a puck for roller hockey that would mimic an ice puck. He figured out a plastic that had the same density as the rubber that is used for ice pucks.

What is the Xenopuck made of?

Xenopucks are made of high density plastic.

How long will the puck last?

The Xenopuc lasts for years. We've heard from customers who are still using pucks they first acquired more than five years ago. They can break against the post but it’s pretty rare and you have to have a hard shot to break it. If you shoot it against something jagged, that will be likely to break it.

Will the slide wear off with usage?

No. Because of the material that it's made of, the Xenopuck doesn’t lose its slide as it's used.

What drills is the Xenopuck ideal for?

The Xenopuck is good for any stick handling drill, both passing and shooting.

Being able to work on stickhandling with your head up at home with something that feels like an ice puck is probably the most valuable skill you can work on with the Xenopuck.

It's ideal for stickhandling on really rough surfaces where the puck bounces because it adds an extra challenge.

You can do drills on foot and not in roller skates, and then add in rollerblades or regular skates (on synthetic ice) for an extra challenge.

The only drill where usage of the Xenopuck is not recommended are shooting drills where someone could get hit with the puck on the shot or the rebound off the post.

How much does the Xenopuck weigh?

There is some variance , which is typical in the manufacturing process, so it’s between 5.8 ounces and 6 ounces. A standard ice puck is of vulcanized rubber, is one inch thick and three inches in diameter and is expected to weigh between 5 ½ ounces and 6 ounces.
